A 1963 Mercury 390 engine with 3 speed trans complete needs rebuild, NO KNOCKS or other noises when pulled But did smoke upon reving (maybe valve guides)
A 1976 Lincoln 460 ran good no noises or smoke dropped oil pump drive shaft into pan when I removed the distributer.
Both engines are good rebuilders for pick up only can meet you most anywhere in Mi. for pick up.
