No reserve after that. Here's what I put on ebay. Anyone in the San Antonio area should be familiar with Dennis and the kind of work he does.
*No Reserve*
This is an original 1966 427 FE side-oiler with 2,000 miles on it. Professionally built by Donnie Anderson at his shop Performance Engineering Racing Engines in San Antonio, Texas. His 35 years of experience building FE's was put into this motor. It was built for an eccentric client for a no expense spared aluminum bodied CSX4000 Cobra from Shelby's continuation series. How eccentric is this guy? After less than 3000 miles having spent $19,500 tracking down and building a vintage FE motor, the owner changed his mind. He had to have a new 800hp aluminum engine for his 2,300 pound cobra! Sick? Sure. But if you're looking at this ad, there's a part of you that probably understands...
Components
Donnie has built dozens of these and uses a very consistent formula with little variation as follows: 10.1 compression and makes an easy and streatable 550HP. Dump the clutch and watch it pull like a tractor. The Aluminum Edelbrock heads are nice out of the box, but Donnie re-machined and pocket ported to optimize the 2.19 intake and 1.72 exhaust ports. It features an all Comp Cams valve train with the forged aluminum shaft roller system. Steel crank, mechanical lifter cam with 600 lift, eagle rods, Forged JE (or sometimes Arias) pistons. Aviad oil pans are another big buck item, and most importantly – this one has the original 427 side oiler block which are becoming scarcer by the minute. Everything you see in the pix is included, of course. No carb, but even if you hit BUY NOW you could later add Dynatek's new stack injection system, and still come out under the cost for Donnie to build you one.
So here it is on ebay. Just break-in miles, and comes with everything you see here. In this economy it's a pleasure to offer someone a killer combo like this starting at 70% off new!

Mark Reber here. The seller. I got this question emailed to me by a member here:
Why are you selling the SO?
Answer:
Eccentric guys also sell their cars right after they get them all finished! So I bought the car and the original Motor was included. I don't need it. It has been stored covered in a warehouse in Arkansas since it was taken out of the cobra - winter of 2005.

Thanks for the interest. It sold on Ebay. Assuming all goes well, it is no longer available.
