A little about my FFR Cobra. Four and a half years ago I lucked out and found a guy in my town who was selling a recently started FFR Cobra project. He had just finished the rolling chassis when he decided to sell it (due to a divorce). While I didn't save much money over buying a kit new from FFR, I did obtain a car with three really neat modifications. 1) Frame professionally modified to fit a power brake booster. 2) The 8.8" Ford rear end was narrowed 5" (total) to allow for extra wide tires in the rear. 3) A "FF-Metal" hidden battery box was already installed between the frame rails in the trunk. These three mods sold me on the unfinished car. You'll notice hardly any Cobras have power brakes, and after driving others, let me tell you its one of my favorite features on this car. The narrowed rear allows me to run up to a P325 tire, but I'm currently running 315's which looks very aggressive. I can't tell you how neat it is to pop the hood and trunk and not be able to find an unsightly battery! I've had a few ask, "where's the battery?" Of course the access panel is the the trunk, but it's powder coated black to match the carpet. The Paint is beautiful BMW Imola Red by PPG with a PPG 2055 clear coat which is among the best clear coats (so I'm told). The paint is deep, smooth, and draws a lot of attention. I recently had it cut and had some ridiculously expensive wax ($150 bottle) applied by a pro. You'll also notice I built the car without Quick-jacks. I feel it looks much better, and you'll never hit your shin on a stupid non-functional quick jack!
Other stand-out features: The car has a very pricey Ford Racing power Brake system. 13.5" Front discs with four piston "Cobra" Calipers combined with 10.5" rear discs bring this car to a safe stop in a hurry with very little foot effort. I happen to the think over-powered cars should be over-braked as well, right? Another cool feature is a custom hidden body mount set up that hides 14 of the 16 body mounting bolts on the body! It really makes for a much cleaner appearance and very very few builders go through the trouble to do this (or even know it's possible). The Cobra sits on real British 17" Compomotive wheels which are probably the best looking and expensive wheel on the market for Cobras ~ seriously the Envy of all Cobra Wheels. Lesser features include: Black powder coated frame, Upgraded Carpet quality, rear brake bias adjustment control, Optima Red-Top Battery, Autometer Reproduction Smiths gauges (like originals), Hidden Speaker system with Amp for Ipod connection, Hidden 12V power source for charging cell phone etc, Custom made door panels (with pockets) to match interior, larger foot boxes (foot room) for both driver and passenger, super nice heavy duty radiator cooling system with twin 10" electronic cooling fans, shroud, and aluminum overflow tank. Cooling fans will come on automatically or can be activated at any time using a switch ~ rarely needed though.
The Cobra is a non-donor build which means very few (if any) mustang parts were used to build this car. The 8.8 rear and T-5 transmission are the only "Mustang" Parts in the car, and that's very standard. It's has tubular adjustable A-Arm front suspension with adjustable coil-over shocks in all four corners as well as an upgraded and adjustable three-link rear suspension system (for road racing).
Lets review the engine. Custom built 347ci ford small block. This is NOT your average 347ci small block. It has forged pistons, custom designed roller camshaft, AFR heads, 11:1 compression, Dual Carbs, Crane Ignition system, rev limiter, 9 quart road race oil pan, etc. I have over $7000 into the engine alone and it shows. On the dyno it made 403 rear wheel horse power (about 470 engine HP) which is way above par for 347s. The power to weight ratio of this car has is unbelievable, and I've driven three FFR Cobras in comparison....big difference. Most importantly, the engine has great street manners. It idles at 850rpm, stays cool, runs it's best on 91 octane, and achieves 15 MPG at freeway speeds. Oh, I forgot to say it sounds great, I've gotten lots of compliments on how "mean" it sounds.

Dan. Just a few questions. Do both seats adjust, and are they on sliders? Were they both positioned as far back as possible? Is it a MK II or III? Where are you located. Thanks. Brian
