I must sell this fantastic 520 CID 600 HP Superformance 427 S/C Mk III Cobra - A Show Quality Car
This SPF is a beautiful and fantastic machine, but I must part with it. I have too many toys and too much money tied up in them, and this simply doesn't get driven. When it does get driven, my aging back complains for several days - or about as long as it takes for the grin on my face to subside! Truly an awesome ride!
This is SPF 790, in beautiful Royal Blue with white stripes. Motor is 460 Ford, stroked to 520 CID. Motor was built by Woodruff's in SoCal, and car was delivered to my friend (the original owner) from Hilbank Motors in 2001. Motor build specs indicate 600 hp and 620 ft/lbs torque, although I have not dyno'ed the car. I can fax or email the build specs to prospective purchasers with full details.
The car has the following option per the build sheet: Mats, Car Cover, Stone Guards, Shoulder harness, Ceramic coated headers. I have the top, side curtains, tonneau and lead hammer as well. This car has a little over 1300 miles, and is in absolutely pristine condition. The car was ordered by a friend, and he drove it sparingly. About two years ago, he started talking about selling it and I offered to buy the car from him, as I had taken a ride and was smitten. He decided it was worth more than he paid for it, and I passed on the car at the time. I was hooked on the look and speed of the car though, and started looking for another one. I ended up buying a supercharged FFR (which I sold last year). Within a month after I bought the FFR, my friend decided he was willing to sell the car for what I offered him, so I ended up with both the FFR and the SPF. The FFR was sold last year, and I don't think I've put 100 miles on this car, as other interests/toys have consumed most of my time. It is now time for someone else to have the fun.
Car has been titled in California with an SB100 certificate, which means it is permanently smog exempt in California with a valid and clear title currently in my name (beware of replica cars titled as 1965 or with other title gimmicks - the DMV can revoke these at any time). The car is as close to new in every respect as possible, and would cost between $80,000 - $90,000 to replicate today, not including the hassles associated with the SB100 process. Car is sitting in a heated/air-conditioned warehouse in Van Nuys. Asking $51,999. Trades up or down for other interesting toys considered, with a strong preference for a well restored pre-1973 Porsche 911 or a 993 Turbo.
