For Sale: Superformance 427S/C Cobra replica # 642. Silver/black stripes, premium German Glasurit paint. Under the hood: 351 Windsor crate engine topped by an Edelbrock dual-plane Performer manifold and a 750 cfm Holley 4160 carburetor. The mild cam and Performer manifold produce great mid-range torque and an engine which is very comfortable on the street. All engine preparation and installation was done by Bill Andrews of H.R.E. Motorcars; lots of shine, a custom puke tank, and a Halon automatic fire-suppression system. Cooling is standard Superformance (aluminum radiator with two electric pulling fans), and a front-mounted functional oil cooler.
The engine is hooked to a Tremec 3550 five-speed gearbox (0.68 overdrive renders a final drive ratio of 2.53) and onto a Ford 8.8" limited-slip differential (3.73) connected to the independent rear suspension. This "tall" gear allows the engine to loaf down the interstate at 1850 rpm at 60 mph! The Superformance suspension was upgraded with HAL adjustable shocks and springs. Tires are Yoko Avids, 275-60-15 rear, 245-60-15 front,-mounted on Trigo pindrive safety-wired knockoffs. A spare Trigo and T/A is included. Ceramic-coated black sidepipes and matching rollbar, leather fender spats and quick jacks. In the cockpit: black leather seats, black carpets & mats, Autometer gauges (oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, voltmeter, fuel, speedometer & tachometer), a locking glove box, chromed fire extinguisher and 4 pt. driver's harness. Trunk-mounted battery and a hidden kill switch. The hood, trunk and gas filler all lock.
The soft top and tonneau cover have never been removed from the box. This car has never seen rain, the track or a dyno. The engine gets a diet of Redline 5W-30 synthetic (9 quarts) which lives in an Aviaid pan. This car has won its share of trophies and was the July "Car of the Month" in the 2002 Superformance calendar. 15,000 easy miles. The asking price of this pristine vehicle is $41,000. We will consider reasonable offers. Phone Bob or Noreen at (203) 932-1270 or email: LP247@yahoo.com
