Description: There are lots of Cobra kits out there to choose from, fifty Cobra-kit manufactures to be exact, and thousands of choices to make for your final product. When I built my first kit I must have dish out at least $50,000 and I was not even close to finish. In building one of these kits, decision is by far one of the hardest things to overcome. What products to choose, which color to paint, what engine to use so on and so forth. Needless to say I never finished it, got frustrated and sold it unfinished.

It was then when I realized that sometimes it’s easier to buy something finished, especially when it comes to one of these kits and for many reasons. With time you will know the quality of the build of these kits. Through time, parts come loose if they were not properly installed, the body changes shape from the heat, the paint becomes blurry from poor prep work, you hear noises coming from everywhere. These are only a few of the many reason why it makes sense to buy a kit that has aged well; it takes the what if out of the equation. This replica kit was purchased in 1999 and build in 1999, so its been road worthy for 13 years. With original remarkable paint and not a curb rash on the real knock-off wheels, no cheap imitation 5 lug Halibrand. Rest assure that this vehicle is dependable and believe me when i say that if it has lasted all these years looking like it was just put together then it is a piece of mind that it will last an eternity.

What you are bidding on is a Shell Valley Cobra, one of the few manufactures that actually knows what they are doing and one of the only manufactures that builds their kits from the ground up, starting from their chassis. Shell Valley Cobra perfected the art of the cobra; they have been in business for over 40 years. They not only specialize in 427 Cobra’s, they have a whole line up of replica kits (Roadster, Jag, Daytona, Cheetah and even a Jeep replica). This simply confirms that this is a company that knows what they are doing and will continue for many years to come.

About the car.

Shell valley tried to accurately emulate the era of this car. Inside, it's all business, with black leather seats, clean instrument panel with double stitched border for an elegant and sporty look. The body sits on a powder coated chassis and it’s elegantly sustained on an all-aluminum 4 link suspension with fully adjustable front and rear coil-overs. With any of the replicas out there, it’s important to build one that not only is constructed from great parts, but also that the sums of its parts add up to quality. On this Classic Roadsters replica, the fiberglass is reinforced with Kevlar an option that Shell Valley offers, something you don’t see in today’s kits because it’s an expensive upgrade. The fiberglass is beautifully laid with immaculate prep that allows admiring the deep blue paint. Its classic white LeMans-style stripes add the proper dose of aggression that can be seen from a mile away. Fit and finish are excellent, well above the average Cobra build, and all the details are correct, from the sexy curves of the fenders to the classic look of the over-riders and full bumper kit to the chrome roll bar, stainless steel side pipes, and LeMans-style filler cap. Yeah, it's flashy, will you get stopped by every woman and person imaginable? Yes. Will this be a problem with your wife? I would think so. Will she let you go out alone on the Cobra on a Sunday drive to the beach, probably not? With this said, I cannot be held responsible for your wife getting jealous and possibly divorcing you so bid carefully.

This car was built by professionals, all receipts to prove it. The engine was also professionally built, all the receipts to prove it. So what engine does it have? A ford 302? A 3-0-what? Is it a 351? 351 are for people who just want to cruise while holding a conversation without interruption of the mild sound of the exhausts. Is it a 427? A 427 wishes it was sitting down on this engine bay. No my friends, this engine bay houses a loud and angry growling Ford 460 engine. A 460? That’s right; your eyes do not deceit you. This bad boy has a 460 7.8L 390 HP ford engine just begging for someone to really tap the horse power this block can really generate. For those of you who are wondering, this beast of an engine is typically seen in a 1995 ford F450. All these specs can be seen in the pictures bellow, from the size of the pistons to the ARP bolts used to put it together. Feeding this thirsty power plant is a 750cfm Edelbrok carburetor with an electric choke. It is brought to life by an MSD box with an 8580 MSD distributor and coil. In all, this cobra was built with high performance parts that will last you forever. Please look at all of the pictures that i have placed on my ad. You will be able to appreciate the fine detail that the builder went through and the care that the previous owner took in order to have this well oiled machine last as long as it has in the condition that it is. Please excuse the pictures with the steering wheel, we are going to have it professionally refinished. It will be ready by the time the listing is over. I will post updated pictures once it is completed.

I would list all of the options but I encourage you to see for your self. I have scanned and included only some of the receipts of the manufacturer checklist with options and service records with part numbers and detail specifications of the build. I am not going to blow smoke up your nose with "I spent over $60,000 building this car" like many others do. I actually have proof of what was spent throughout the years. Everything you see and more comes along with the car
