For Sale is a partial set of Smiths Gauges that came out of the Hi-Tech Cobra I recently purchased. When I bought the car, I was told that all of these gauges were in working order. I did run the water temp gauge under hot water and the needle was moving.
I had just bought a complete set of new Smiths gauges for my Contemporary before selling it so that is what I will be using in the Hi-Tech. I would suggest contacting Nisonger to purchase a new set of mounting gaskets and you will need bulbs. You might want to order a speedo cable, oil pressure cable, fuel tank sender and a few other gauges to complete the set while you are it: http://www.nisonger.com/smiths-parts.htm
What is included in this sale is the following:
1. Tachometer – Not marked Smiths on the face but it is definitely marked “Smiths Industries” on the back.
2. 180 MPH Speedo – Marked “Smiths Made In The UK” on the face.
3. Water Temp Gauge – Up to 230 degrees F. Marked “Smiths Made In The UK” on the face. I would recommend buying the copper seal for the temp probe end when you call Nisonger.
4. Fuel Gauge – This is the old style Smiths fuel gauge where the “E” and “F” lettering have been factory modified. When the tank is full, the needle is to the far left. Again, Nisonger can get you the correct sender for this gauge.
5. Smiths Amp Gauge
6. Oil Pressure Gauge – This is NOT a Smith’s gauge but it does have a Smiths label on the face. Both the front and back of the gauge are marked “Made In The UK”.
Retail for these gauges would be over $800.00. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get the authentic Smiths look without spending a fortune, this deal is for you. I am asking $200.00 or best reasonable offer for this set. I am selling these gauges “as is” since I have no personal experience with them.
