Description:

I have a 391 FE/FT bare block that would make a great candidate for a 427/428 replica.
I had this block sonic checked and it is rare because the block is currently at 4.09" bore but the cylinder walls are extremely thick. It could be bored from 4.09 to 4.13, by taking just 0.020" off each side of the cylinder walls. I have included the sonic map showing the minimum thickness of each cylinder wall from top to bottom of the bore. .
The freeze plug ports have been drilled and tapped and the block now has original style screw in freeze plugs...just like the 427.
I was planning to do cross bolted main caps, but I never got around to it so this block has been in storage for about 10 years.
The heavy duty FE/FT blocks had a larger hole machined for the distributor, but I have a FORD bushing that can be pressed in so that a standard FE distributor will fit. Bushing will be included.
I will also include a large hex wrench for removing/installing the freeze plugs. Can strap to pallet for shipping as well.
