Description:
|
Here’s your chance to own and drive a stunning reproduction of an early 60’s A.C. “Slabside” Cobra, made on the same assembly line, at the same South African factory, by the same people — as the 50th Anniversary Shelby Slabside Cobras; for about HALF THE PRICE!!!! These slab side Cobras built by Superformance under license from Shelby are nut and bolt exact replicas of the early 60’s Cobras that made Shelby famous, with the only difference being the fiberglas body. These even have the leaf spring suspension in the front!
The major differences between my car and the 50th Anniversary “Shelby’s” are:
My engine is an original early 60’s “date coded” 289 motor rebuilt to new specs with all the best modern hi-performance components (Edelbrock aluminum heads, roller rockers, etc.) by Southern Automotive to put out 360 HP. The Shelby’s have a NEW aluminum block 331CI. My car is more “accurate” to the originals compared to the Shelby anniversary cars in this respect. If you look at the engine photos, you will see it has lots of billet goodies and is accurate in it’s detail to the original Cobras.
2) My car has the “correct” top loader four speed transmission and a ($6000 upgrade) 3.73 Salisbury rear . The Shelby’s have a modern 5-Speed transmission and a 3.52 rear, which were NEVER in the original cars. Again, my car is more accurate to the originals than the anniversary cars.
3) My car comes with a dash plaque that says “Superformance Mk II, Distributed by Superformance LLC, under license from Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc. Chassis #SPS0002” The Shelby’s receive a plaque with a CSX 8000 series number and Shelby’s “stamped” signature, which you get for the modest extra cost of $100,000 or MORE……. (sarcasm intended). I’ve seen some on eBAY and other venues for over $220,000!
The cost of the rolling chassis on my car with all the options (red leather interior, top, side curtains, door pockets, heater, Salisbury rear, etc.) was $85,750. The cost to buy the engine and transmission and have them installed totaled $25,000; bringing the total to over$110,000.
The car has only 3500 easy (never tracked) miles on it, and is now “fully sorted” and ready for your driving enjoyment without the 6 month or more wait to order a car from scratch, plus time to complete the drivetrain installation.
I am selling to make room for another car I want. My loss is your gain.
Videos of the car can be viewed here:

It is registered as a 1963 Cobra Replica.
I will assist in loading the car with the transport company of your choice. Transport fees to be paid by the buyer.
I must receive a non-refundable PayPal deposit of $1000 within 24 hours of accepted offer, and the balance within 7 business days by wire transfer or cashiers check. Car must be picked up by you or your shipper within 14 days of auction close to avoid $100/day storage charges. I own the car free and clear and have the title in hand. Once payment is confirmed I will overnite the title to you.
If you want any more information, other photos or have questions of any kind; feel free to call me west coast time 11AM to 10PM at 503-348-1957.
