ERA 289FIA Cobra Chassis #2044; Assembled by ERA
No longer for sale.
351W rebuilt in 2017; added:
- Slight overbore
- 185 AFR Aluminum Heads
- Holley Sniper Fuel Injection
- Holley Dual Sync Distributor (can set timing in the drivers seat)
- Tremec T-56 Magnum 6 speed transmission (2.66 first gear, .80 fifth, and .63 sixth)
- 3" jetcoated exhaust
- CompCams hydraulic roller cam
Dyno results: Rear wheel hp and torque 425 and 402, respectively. At 18% loss, estimated flywheel hp and torque 518 and 490, respectively.
- Has Smith gauges (not the SWs normally found in 289s)
- Has the 427 forward/bent shifter as the T56 transmission is longer than "normal"
- Knock off wheels
- Jag rear with inboard rear brakes
Built in 2002; purchased by me in 2009 with 2,300 miles. Car sent to ERA in New Britain, CT to sort out small issues.
Currently less than 12k miles. Driver quality paint with some chips at the rear wheel wells, scratches on rear view mirrors/side curtains.
Mechanically perfect. Fuel injection solves some many driveability issues (like hard hot start, crappy gas, fuel delivery, fuel boiling, etc.).
