Description:
|
One set 1965 Texas passenger car license plates to properly register your replica Cobra (or the real thing) here in Texas.
No dents, no rust to begin with-they were pristine except for faded paint.
Plates were stripped of all original paint, acid dipped, primed, painted, and raised characters repainted in original colors.
Got the plates, but never registered the car, so the plates were used for a photo-shoot only, so are ready for TXDOT to assign to YOUR Cobra (or 1965 Mustang or any 1965 car).

Oops, sorry.
I forgot to cancel-I sold them (you don't want to know for how much).
At least I didn't lose too much money on the sale my Cobra (that has all of 82 miles on it and had never even been registered), though evidently it's a tough market right now.
A lot of people offered half to 3/4 of what the Backdraft rolling chassis alone cost (not including, of course, the $7k engine or $2.5k transmission). I wouldn't have the nerve to do that, but "No guts, no glory," I guess.
Tough times in the economy now for many folks.

no worries on the plates, bob. yeah, i picked up a fully assembled factory five with '89 5.0 drivetrain for about a third of what the guy who built it spent. the guy had traded it in on a new car and i bought it off a dealership.
i'll keep looking for the plates. thanks.
