Description:
|
Actual build date unknown. Cobra replica was built by Mike Allen Specialties of Boise, ID. This is not a kit car but a purpose built vehicle. Car has tilt front section which provides excellent access to the engine, radiators and cooling system etc. The hood design is based upon the lightweight Cobra as driven by Ken Miles in 1964. The front suspension is reportedly of Mustang origin. The main hand built chassis and out riggers are Mike Allen design.
It has a Tilton twin cylinder balance bar brake system.
Twin oil filters, oversized radiator, electric cooling fan. Rebuilt 351 Cleveland motor (virtually unused since local rebuild). New distributor, new Holley carb, new high-speed stall converter. Rear end made from mid seventies style Corvette parts. Paint is Viper Red with twin white stripes. Wheels are American Racing. Silver side pipes with mushroom end to take back pressure baffles. Recently rewired by a local shop. This is a running vehicle with Idaho Vin # ID 005500, currently registered in NC. Beautiful lines, great stance, strong body, just needs finishing touches and some TLC by a knowledgeable person. More pics available upon direct request.
