1970 Boss 302 Mustang – Medium Blue Metallic- present owner since 2002
Metuchen built car with Marti report and Emminger invoice matching current configuration. V.I.N. tag matches inner fender stampings and buck tag. Full restoration in late 90’s, stripped to bare unibody and metal replaced as needed in floor section, rear quarters and tail light panel. Workmanship is professional and excellent as evidenced by current condition of chassis, body and paint.
Glass and chrome is excellent.
Interior replaced and seats done in correct color combination (with Mach 1 upholstery). Factory dash tach works intermittently, clock works always, radio never connected and no speaker holes have been cut in interior or door panels. Gauges have been added and are easily removed if you don’t mind relying on idiot lights. LeCarra steering wheel stays and also have original. Have the inflatable spare but no jack or bottle.
D1ZE service block was freshened during restoration, have machine shop invoice and detail parts list. Non- correct distributor, carb, air cleaner. Correct rev-limiter and wiring harness (not connected). Correct original exhaust manifolds. Close ratio top-loader as original, currently runs 4.11 rear end – was original 3.91. Speedo drive gear is incorrect and reads 10-15% fast.
Koni shocks, correct sway bars, one piece export brace, current set up with Torque Thrust D’s 15”X7” and BFG T/A’s 245/60X15 stay on the car. Also have set of Magnum 500’s with Dunlop GT Qualifier tires. Power steering as original. Car runs and drives great – puts you back 45 years just add gas !
This car has been driven to Fabulous Fords, regularly driven around the bay area, participated in Fabulous Fords twice, Edelbrock’s annual show at Vic’s garage, Boss 302 Registry road trip to Monterey Historics, Mini-Nats and assorted local events.
