On older worn blocks I will often restrict the lifter oil feeds to .090 or less with solids - I don't block them off anymore. On new blocks with tight lifter/lifter bore clearance I won't restrict at all.

For the rocker feeds I will try to restrict to around .090 at the deck. Most old blocks, and aftermarket blocks, will let you tap that feed hole for a 5/16 set screw. Some blocks are drilled kinda large - I'm not comfortable drilling & tapping those so they get restricted in the head.

I like the idea of oiling through the pushrods - it seems to work for nearly every other Ford engine made since the FE. You can't really do both unless you're really restricting things though - you're doubling the number of leaks in the system.
