Just an update here in the interest of fairness. Considering how much contact I've had from BDR in the past few months the last day and a half or so has been really rockin'. After speaking with Tony a couple of days ago and posting the 8 month saga of my headers I got another call from the man himself who felt that I was being a bit unfair calling everyone out like that. Our discussion got a little heated but in the end Tony asked me what he had to do to get me on the team and make us friends. My answer of course was simple, a set of headers that will work. He responded by offering to fly a tech from the FL shop to my house to personally fix my headers and make them right. I was dumbfounded and probably stuttered a little when I answered "Yes, that would be great!" About 2 or 3 hours later (I was teaching a class at the time) Reg left me a message to call him to set up what needed to be done. So I just got off the phone with Reg a few minutes ago and it does look like things are moving in the right direction. They will be at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona this weekend (I'll probably see them there) but he promised to call Monday to get thing shaken out. At this point one of two things should happen; #1 one of their guys comes to my house to do the deed or #2 they send an enclosed transport to my house to pick up the car to do it at their facility in FL. After talking with Reg he figures I'm only about 5 or 6 hours from their shop, so either of those options would suit me fine as long as there is an agreed upon timeframe involved. Further discussion with Reg also revealed where some of the problem originated. After my first jacked up set of headers, the factory sent these partially welded ones to Custom Cars assuming that a car was there for them to finish on. Of course there wasn’t. When Custom Cars got the headers from SA they didn’t even open them assuming that they would be what I needed and sent them on to me. That’s when my gasket started to blow.

So here we are after talking with what seems like every bigwig in the company the wheels are finally starting to turn in a direction where I can get my beautiful Cobra on the road. Just thought I’d let you guys know. More to follow.
