But, I believe it gives too much credit. I don't think any of the politicians are capable of designing, implementing, and following through with any complex plan/stretegy.
I believe the financial crisis was the result of incompetency, knee jerk reactions and decisions made by politicians who really don;t understand anything, about anything, other than how to BS people so they can be re-elected.
In industry, you hire people based on their experience and education for a specific job, because you need something to be done correctly. In government, especially with the people at the top , this is not the rule, and I believe this is the main flaw of our governement. There are many people in top positions who really don't understand the problems, implement solutions based on their own idealism that only make the problems worse, and also sell out to the highest bidder.
