Well, you see my point. It's pretty tough to justify some choices on any grounds other than "I just know I want it." And that's ok. When I was spec'ing out my car, I went with the rule of "if I can't
see a difference, and there is no performance difference, then I will put in the cheaper part." Or, if I couldn't see the part at all (like a transmission) then the decision on the part was purely performance based. Since I had, and have, no intention of ever selling the car, "re-sale" value never really entered in to the equation. That's a long winded answer as to why a 428 is in my car, but it could have just as easily been a 390.
