Default Toploader shifter

Hello All,

I finshed up my rebuild of a toploader and it is back in the car. I took it for a short spint to the gas station and it went through all the gears fine. At the pump I put it in reverse to test the reverse gear and it it worked fine then drove home.

The next day I started her up put it in reverse and went to select 1st and it locked up. It seems as if the reverse did not disengage all the way.

I disconnected the rod and closed the distance on the adjustment to get it to pull more.

Now it is hard to select reverse if not impossible. Is there a trick to adjust the linkage besides using the 1/4 inch in the netural hole?

Or is there a way to rebuild the shifter which is a Hurst super pro and where to get the parts.
