Just for clarification:

Hurricane Motorsports is a brand new company based in Iowa and owned by Scranton Manufacturing. They purchased the body and frame tooling from the Securities and Exchange Commission, who seized them earlier in 2009 in a securities fraud case from the now-defunct Hurricane Motorports of Arlington, Texas. In its few months of business Hurricane Arlington did not ever produce or sell a single car. They had purchased the tooling and molds from the original Hurricane Motorsports of Missouri, who produced 122 cars before closing. The body molds were originally taken directly from a CSX car by Jerry Connally when he formed Component Craft Cobras in Dallas in 1990.

Under Scranton, the new Hurricane entity agreed to maintain the Hurricane name brand, among other reasons, because several people from the current owner base asked that they continue/preserve the brand. Following a number of revisions and imprevements they are now producing an initial run of cars and planning full production to commence in early 2010.
