I obtained the license plate bracket when I purchased my SPF (the dealer had them in stock). I didn't install it right away------thought it detracted from the overall appearance of the car. However, after some "prodding" from the local constables, I decided to install it.

Installation did require some minor engineering. The two bumper quick jack rods need to be cut so the license plate bracket can be installed (be careful when cutting because the correct dimension is of concern). As a note, I used a fine hack saw blade and it worked perfectly-------no burrs, gouges or blemishes. The small bracket that attaches to the parking light is not necessary but is recommended. It helps keep the license plate bracket from "whipping" around, especially at higher speeds. The small bracket required some minor drilling to oversize the hoes some to allow a fit over the parking light screws (the bracket utilizes the existing screws in the parking light).

The whole installation process, from start to finish, required about an hour. It doesn't look terribly bad and it doesn't cover any of the parking light. However, I think it detracts from the overall look of the car. But, for peace of mind in keeping the local constables appeased, it's well worth it.
