Though it was cold as heck,we had a great time. A few beers and some steaks Thursday nite set the tone for some productive engineering discussions on Friday. We covered a lot of items from an engineering perspective, focusing on things we found with the first run of cars that we thought should be modified prior to production. They were already ahead of us on a lot of it. We also talked at length with them about a variety of changes to help the car become an even more accurate replica.

As Dean said, they guys have got the people/tools/experience to get it on. And heaven help us, they even have ENGINEERS. Yep, some very talented folks who have already loaded the entire Hurricane frame and all its sub-components into SolidWorks, which will be the design engineering environment for the car. They even have the resources to engage in things like stress failure analysis, which may be used to help dictate future design changes.

The Hurricane Missouri bodies were good, but these will be spectacular. They have a master mold maker and some incredibly talented glass workers who are thrilled to be building these cars. A number of changes have already been made to the molds and with their experience in fiberglass, the bodies will be second-to-none right out of the mold. And everything will fit like its supposed to.

Like any new company, it will take a little time for Hurricane to learn the ins and outs of the replica business/hobby. But they are very focused on the right things and are extremely passionate about quality. It was an exciting visit and I can't wait for Dean to start building his beast.
