Agree with Excaliber. Tell them that the registration is incorrect and you want to start the entire process to legally the register the car as a SPCN/SB100.

Probably would have been better to have all of the paperwork prepped and in the DMV's system prior to the end of the year, since the DMV will have to sort everything out before they issue you a sequence number.
