Sounds like one of the registrations that fell between the gaps in the various years. If a specially-constructed vehicle does not resemble any prior vehicle, regs of various years dictated the assignment of 0000 or 1960. Under current regs, it would be assigned the year of build, and if there is a space for a model year, it would be 1967 or whatever. Since you have that prized SB-100, I wouldn't worry about it.
...You know what, on second thought that's probably not a correctable condition and it could be very dangerous. You should just ship the car to me and I'll promise to handle it all carefully.
