correcto-mundo. I finally got the sucker apart; one brush is bottomed out on the spring that presses the brush towards the armature. The other has a good 1/8" left but its obvious the other brush is just "barely" touching:



I do need to relocate this thing; took me 1.5 hours to remove it because of the location I chose. If you look at my journal on this, it's located on the battery box behind the IRS pumpkin, but getting the 4 bolts off was a PITA since I have to remove the battery first, and since the car is now "completed", I had to improvise a way to hold the nut while I turned the bolt from below. Got it done but realized I wrapped the ground connection too far to reach (above the fuel tank) so I cut it so I can re-do it in a new and easier location (thinking behind the rear splash panel where getting to it will be much easier.
The only bad news is I have to make a new braided line to the remote filter but I still have a good 8 ft. of hose so I should be good... a pity since my original connection was a nice 6" connector.
