So Gunner, let me ask you a few questions:

Was your car previously titled as a 1965 or whatever? And you had to go through all this AGAIN? Doesn't CA recognize prior titling?

I've got an even more interesting question though. When I bought CSX4005LA it came with a CA title as a 65 Shelby Cobra. This had happened some time in 2008 as I bought it in Jan 2009. It came from Mexico so someone did some legwork to get this done. That title legitimized my registration in CO as a 65 as well...

So now, let's say I sell it to someone in CA. Does having a previous SB100 count? Or do they have to start all over again?

You guys need to have a revolt and start your meddling government over again. Flush 'em. Any process this complex that requires you to find well-trained or sympathetic employees is bad legislation and needs to be fixed. If you can't go to 5 (let alone 2) different offices and present the same data and get exactly the same answer, something is broken.
