OK, let me ask here. What style of rack and pinions do you all have? I am replacing mine, and I am looking to use a short shaft MII. Made by Flaming River. I think the long shaft will wear out faster, due to the universal putting side load on it. Also I can bring the assy closer to the frame. The unit I have now appears to be a 75 era Pinto with three mounting bolts similar to the MII.
