csx4910 thanks for the quick response, how does the auto/paddle shifter work exactly, help me understand this feature or if possible can you share with me any technical specs? When I talked to Mark Bowler of Bowler Performance Transmissions about using the 4R70W auto tranny like a manual [primarily for compression braking in an emergency] his response was, "can't be done" and I should consider a paddle shifter. Thus my interest.tin-man
