Cobraman428 where is the power for this motor produced? Talking Torque? Do you have a camshaft profile card for the motor. 428 is a good torque motor but wouldn't to a 6,000 rpm beater. What gears are in the rearend? what trans are you running? with this info we can give you alot better idea of what rpm to be running. If you are running 60 mph and have a good torque motor, about 2,200 rpms is ok, you want to be between 500 and 750 rpms into the torque band of the motor. Rick L.
