I have found some good leads on the cobra import front (legal) But I have a neat loop-hole (known this one awhile) that is completely legal ,
Ex-pat . If you are an expatriate , say you were working
oil rigs in trinidad for two years , bought a car there, japanese Spec , not legal in Canada . When you move home you can bring it with you legally . Transport Canada , Government of Canada , does't want to screw over its returning subjects "
oh sorry you have to leave your car " and give you a pass as it were . If you live in socialist Canada (auto insurance owned/operated by provincial government ) your home free . If you live in Alberta or Ontario I guess it would be customary to bend over your auto insurance agents desk come renewal time .
