IMO I'm looking forward to trying the alum block, both for weight savings (the car may see some road course time if all goes well) and the modern technology.
Imagine finding a virgin SO block, then always wincing every time you put the pedal down for fear you're going to ruin a piece of history. I would, at least at first. Our 67 Fairlane has a non-original, 70's built 427 medium riser and I worry enough about breaking it.
