Mike,
I remember the down pours from when I lived in Paradise Camp. There was a Winter stream that ran behind our house and about a mile up the mountain was 3 waterfalls that we had climbed on during the Summer. In the Winter you could hear them for a mile as they really made a lot of noise. One had a small cave in the very center of it and we used to take ropes and climb down to go into the cave.
There was also a pretty good sized river that ran through the valley down in front of where we lived but I don't recall the name. It would really spread out during the rain season. I remember going swimming in it once in December. I have got to get back down there and visit some of the places that i liked so much. Santa Ynez, where I went to school, Solvang where I loved the bakery.
Of all the places we lived in when I was young, I would most like to go back to two of them for a visit. One is there and the other is upstate New York, a little town called Lawrenceville. Last time I was in Fresno, it has grown and changed so much I had trouble finding my way around. Yosemite is to full of people any more so I have no desire to go back there.
