As for the question at hand, I do think that SPF had issues with the first few cars built (CAV may have too, it was a LONG time ago), but I think that those have largely been addressed. While mine isn't on the road yet, I found the general fit and finish to be very good. Lightyears ahead of the originals. The CAVs I've seen looked great too, and I really think it comes down to how original you want it to be. None of the originals were built (or designed) to production car standards (they're hot, loud, leak like crazy, and not particullarly roomy, and the body panel fit was questionable). That said, I don't think you can go wrong with either, it just comes down to personal preference.
