I find eBay very useful as well; especially as a buyer. As a seller, I used to have confidence in a buyer's rating; I would even cancel bids based on low feedback counts for big ticket items. Now as a seller I know that the buyer feedback is bogus and has no measure against the buyer.
In their response, eBay said it is a "win win" situation. I don't know how they could say this when:
1.) My vehcile didn't sell
2.) I had to spend two weeks waiting for a reply (time) before I could relist
3.) My relisted auction got less than the original winning bid (that is a hard cost)
4.) I had people wonder if there was something wrong with the vehicle since the auction wasn't honored
5.) ebay investigations did nothing
Will I use ebay again? Absolutely but I am definitly not going to consider selling a car on there again with these lame feedback policies. It's like kindergarten where "everyone wins." You can always challenge feedback and have it removed if it is abused. Buyers and sellers can abuse this tool. I guess this is a reflection of living in a society where accountability has no merit.
