I have been doing a couple a year. My teeth are really soft (as far as teeth go) so I break them easily. I have had so many chips and cracks drilled and filled, but it just comes back. I also have an underbite so I get a little gap between teeth that food gets stuck in. So last year I decided to take care of it in advance instead of waiting for pain that will come. Yesterday was a checkup on the toothache that turned out to be a sinus infection from a couple weeks ago, a cleaning and then I had 2 more of my teeth fixed. We are crowning them before they crack or rot, to help prevent it. She is also making them fit better so the gaps go away and keep food out. Up till now, it has been a case of fixing the cracks, chips, etc... to stop the pain. This year we were able to do the 2 teeth and leave me enough insurance money in case I have another issue later in the year.
