There was a very long thread about this not very long ago. Had a lot of good data, and solid objective testing, along with some subjective opinions.

I recently removed my stock FFR pipes, and welded in some much longer classic chambered mufflers. I had one side old stock, and one new. I started it for a minute in the garage, and it certainly seemed to be quieter. But only only idled for about a minute in the garage, not a very good test. But I'll get the job done this week end (I hope) and then do some real testing.
