I'm bringing back this old thread since any new thread referring to the health care bill is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,less than appreciated.

In the recent summit A Democrat chastised a Republican about being against the health bill. He said that both of them and their family's were covered by the Federal Employees health care plan. And that all the Democrats wanted was to have everyone covered by the same plan.

Like that would save money and bring costs down to have everyone on the Maybach of Cadillac plans!!

With that kind of lying hyperbole, how can any bipartisan agreement be expected. Repubs would venture an idea, Dems would recite a sob story about A SINGLE CONSTITUENT. It was like a room full of people that spoke different languages and had no translators.

And yet neither talked about HEALTH CARE. They both talked about HEALTH INSURANCE. One side wants much control of insurance companies, the other side wants fewer controls on insurance companies. But they both want FEDERAL controls on insurance companies. Both BLAME the insurance companies. Yet those SHARKS operate at a profit of a mere 2.2%. Yes it's Billions of dollars, but business does not survive and grow on DOLLARS, it survives and grows on percentages. And there is NO WIGGLE ROOM in 2.2%. Plus 29 states already regulate insurance rates. And competition ALSO regulates insurance rates or they would be making a much higher profit than 2.2%.

Simple fact, the insurance companies PAY OUR MEDICAL BILLS. In order to do that, they MUST charge us more than they pay out. That is not a complicated theory, its simple math. And they are only charging 2.2% [net] more than they pay out. Why can't the politicians see that attacking insurance rates is NOT the answer. Lowering the medical bills the insurance companies must pay out is the only possible course. But that would CHANGE our medical care and disincentiveize our Doctors and hospitals. Making the politicians the villains instead of the insurance companies.
