Thanks for the reply guys. I thought I read here somewhere that the Ford crank was drilled through the end and a plug was pressed into the end of the crank. Must have been greatly mistaken. It's extremely light contact, it that's what it is at all and there is no sign of wear or grooving on the trans input shaft. I'm going to take about 0.125 off if it and call it a day.

Now, if I can just decide to leave that two piece rear seal alone. It's either it or the pan that was leaving that drop on the floor once in a while.
