There are two choices here , you can have your wiring take place off of the ignition switch, or the starter solenoid.
Option 1 ; On the back of your ign switch , there should be a wire set to "Start" terminal , this is the one that pushes the 12V from the feed of your ign switch to the wire that powers the starter solenoid "S" or start terminal.
all you need to do is put in a switch that connects to those two wires and you are done.
In my mind I would put in the starter switch, as an attachment to the existing ignition switch, that way you have both functionality points if needed.
Option 2. -- with a set of wires , you can wire the starter button from a 12V source (keyed on or not your choice) with the other connection to the *S* terminal of the starter solenoid.
I have not mentioned the neutral safety switch, or the clutch pedal safety switch.
this is on purpose, as most people wanting a start button tune out when you mention these items.
if you intend to run a starter button , you should be aware of your car and what gear its in and how not to run you-self over.
