Sometimes the color will tip you off, but it doesn't really matter. It is undoubtedly DOT3/4;
it is not DOT 5.
Do not use DOT 5. Sitting out in your garage during this season's weather your fluid has been lapping up the moisture. Three years of doing that and it's time for a flush and fill. FWIW, this is what I use:
