I don't know if they are all like this, but the OEM switch assembly is much more substantial than the cheesy lightweight switch assembly that came with the car. Costs a lot more, too. Worth it imho.

I know Shelby was using the VW unit on their CSX4000 series cars. It's a non-cancelling, right-hand side assembly.
