Default Northeast Replica Challenge 2002

Spoke with Joe Traut last night and the dates for this years bash are AUG 12-14, 2002 at New Hampshire Intl' Speedway, same as it has been in the past.

This 3 day event (Mon-Wed) follows a 2-3 day COM track event. So any of you who want a lot of extra time/practice, sign up with COM and have at it. Check them out at www.COM.ORG/~COMSCC/ COM has an intensive drivers training program with extremely well trained instructors and class room time. If you have no experience, or only a smattering, it will serve you well to get involved. Since the same instructors will be used at NERC, follow thru experience will be exceptional. Many drivers will be signed off by the COM program to run their time trials, which will duplicate the NERC program. Talk about being prepared!! This will also free you to run unrestricted with NERC, if you desire. With COM, figure on about 2 hours (4-30 minute session) per day during instruction, and at least 2 sessions, the timed run, and what ever time is left as open track the trials day. NERC will do it all over again, with even more space/time as the car count will be about 2/3.

Monday will overlap COM and NERC, with NERC running a devious autocross right next to the track. If you can't get enough, you can run both events simultaneously. NERC will then have a cruise/poker run ending at a cruise night at the 50's style Tilton Diner. Awards are given for Autocross performance, Poker Run apptitude, an Editors Choice award at the show (by the magazine writers who cover the event) and the Time Trial trophys.

Semi-reliable sources have leaked inside info alluding to this becoming a full fledged stop on the 2002 Club Cranky tour! If almost unlimited track time, an event "almost" exclusively populated by Cobras of all types (hi Tim), and more bench race BS'n than anyone can handle won't bring you out, then picture our own SDW (alias JM) in full goon mode, knockin 'em in the aisles while killing yet another bottle of JW blue. Witness the battle for supremacy between FE's and small blocks, Holley's and Webers, round tube vs square tubes, IRS v straight axles!! Watch Cranky hisown self try to unseat those home town FFR boys like Lightnin Hank D and the Hine family duo. Will FEZ beat clutch failure and survive Bruces killer ribs? Will JM have the FIA finished (well maybe thats too much to ask). And watch everybody get smoked again by that dam*ed little rotary 7 clone!!!

See you there
