You can't argue with that advice! The problem is it can lead to "paranoia". A push rod is easy and cheap enough to deal with, but other "little things" can turn into multiple voices in your head and then it can be hard to know where to draw the line.
MY LINE is: If my motor's gonna blow this summer, I hope it blows in time to get it rebuilt before SAAC 35. So, I'm showing it no mercy at the present time and will slack off a little as the date approaches.
If it blows at SAAC, well, at least it will be a good show.
