Lord knows I love my Cobra. But there are a few other "period/era" cars that I would absolutely beg, borrow or steal to own. The problem is they are either extremely rare or are protected by a legion of attorneys.
Here are the two that consistently enter my mind.
1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa - Drop dead gorgeous sexy curves all wrapped in a "catch me if you can" coat of mile deep red. And the sound of that Weber'd V-12 is simply sensational.
1958 Sting Ray Racer - Peter Brock's original sketch was the foundation for this creation and what would become the C2 Corvette (the "mid year" models). Yeah, I know it's a "Chebby", but I busted my first knuckles working on GM products and I still drive a Z06 daily today. This car truly has it all: unbelievable styling, side pipes, a high revving V-8, etc.
Did I say it is drop dead gorgeous? Make mine spaceship silver just like this one:
I'd be curious to hear what others would buy/build if the hobby allowed for it without legal woes? I honestly believe that the supply/demand curves on these two examples would be quite positive and actually
cannibalize the Cobra volume to some degree.
