Easy: I'll put money down NOW on a well-engineered Maserati Tipo 61.

("Well engineered" to me would be ERA style: looks original, space frame and all, everywhere you can see it; improved in strength and safety everywhere you can't.)

Not sure what engine to build it around - maybe a Ford 2L. Also not sure whether to preserve the deDion rear end or go with a more modern modular IRS. But it has to be lightweight and capture the shape and details EXACTLY. (I'm aware of the Dio or whatever it's called this week... reminds me of the Cobra replicas ca. 1980, the era of "close enough" crap.)
