It appears the transmission fluid leak has finally been located and repaired! It seems the trans rebuilder bent the midplate cover slightly allowing
oil for leak out. The bend in the cover did not have sufficient sealant to compensate for the bend and that was where the
oil leaked from. Gary was able to remove the cover, straigthen the plate and re-seal it. (without removing the transmission). Not much room to work from under the car.
I drove it home.... about 15 mi. with no apparent
oil on the garage floor. When it was leaking, the oil would gravitate to the rear seal area making it look like the rear seal was defective.
It always something.
