NOS means New Old Stock, an unused piece that was never in service. If it is NOS, there are a few FE builders around that still have some for sale, you might check with them to see what they are asking. I think the price mentioned in the earlier post is probably close. I'm not sure how the price was affected by the influx of all the aftermarket blocks. Since some have the C5 casting code and are much stronger, that should have made their value stabilize. A ribbed block is set up to use hydraulic lifters and has plugs under the rear
oil passage plugs in the valley. Left in it is for solids, removed they will run hydraulics.
