If you went to a Genesis or Pond new iron block you wouod be looking at about a 3800.00 up-grade for the block, you would also want to go to bigger valves in the heads and maybe a couple of other items but I would still think you would be in the 13,000.00 range. This engine would be 482C.I. and would make about 25 more HP or there close.
You could do the same engine with a 428 CJ service block for about 750.00 more and this would give you about 465C.I. engine. These make pretty good packages as well.
