Yeah it's a shame the Ford modular engines don't lend themselves to hot rod building. They are enormous in physical size. Even if Ford built an E-Rod version, it would not sell as well as this GM version due to the complexity of making it fit. An all alloy 302 would be the only reasonable choice and that aint gonna happen. Once again, just like in the late 50's early 60's, Ford is a day late and a dollar short with an engine that can compete with a GM offering. Making the small block GM the only logical choice in the forseeable future for an E-Rod type application.

One of my favorite "hot rods" that was in Hawaii was 32 Duece Coupe with 302 Ford and a small blower. Looked great and it was something different. Those giant blowers look kind of cool but are a bit over the top for my taste.

And yes, it's nice to see an FE at a cruise in, just looking under the hood you really can't tell a 352 fom a 428 as far as that goes. But the FE's are something different.
