Our SL-C hasn't had as many years experience on the track, but I would love the opportunity to compare track times as we have developed it extensively. I employ a full-time suspension specialist. Where I have seen times compared it favours the SL-C.
That sort of price increase is not the case as a significant portion of the cost of the Aus Spec SL-C is localised here in Australia, so isn't affected as much by exchange rates.

I think the Ultima is going to be an Easy car to register ( I hear there are few on the road already) and with the steel chassis any mods I want to make can be easily done at home.

Dave, make sure you check the spec and compliance type associated with them. I know it has been a struggle for many Ultima owners here after the low volume compliance approvals deceased. I've spoken to few ultima kit owners. But you won't have any trouble with the chassis as you will test and correct it as required.
With the SL-C we provide chassis testing reports, body testing reports, seat belt reports, suspension reports, handling test reports, brake test reports etc.
I'm extremely proud of the SL-C, here are a couple of photos of what the kits look like when delivered to customers to show you why.
Good luck with it Dave.
