Or, perhaps the wheel will spin and the tire won't! That actually happened to me recently, when I mounted my new slicks on the wheels I bought from Bill (thanks Mr. Mustang I love those wheels).
One wheel slipped inside the tire on a hard launch and tore up a section of the bead. Solution? DON'T use super slippery stuff to mount the slicks on the wheels. The freakin' sidewalls are SO stiff you will want to "grease 'em up" with something to mount 'em. Don't do that, just take them somewhere and have them professionally mounted, OK?
Slicks will kick your butt trying to mount them yourself in the garage.
No serious damage to the tire, but it sure was an eye opener as to the stress you can generate on the wheel/tire combo.
